Roberto Osornio Jr., 88, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. 

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roberto Osornio Garcia and Maria del Carmen Martinez Beltran, A brother Jose Luis Osornio, and sister Delia Osornio 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Maria de la Paz O. Osornio; his children, Roberto (Maria Felix) Osornio III, Marco Aurelio (Lorena) Osornio, Jose Luis ( Maria del Carmen) Osornio, Martha Catalina Osornio, Julian (Paula) Osornio, Maria del Carmen Osornio, Baltazar Osornio, Maria Elena (Juan) Rios, Graciela Osornio ; his siblings, Edith O. (Jose Luis) Hernandez, Guadalupe Osornio Cano, Antonia Elizabeth ( Bolivar ) Osornio de Cano, Francisco Javier Osornio Cano, Felipe de Jesus Osornio Cano, Martin de Porres (Margarita) Osornio Cano ; 31 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving As Pall Bearers- Alvaro A. Sanchez, Julian Osornio Jr., Jose Luis Osornio Jr., Darius Emery Osornio, Pete Robert Osornio, Marco Antonio Osornio; Honorary Pallbearers, Enrique Sanchez, Joshua Lance Osornio, Juan Andres Rios III and Charles Richard Osornio.

Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Miguel Molinas, Dr. Zavala, Dr. Javier Jover, Dr. Habet, Dr. Qua, Dr. Reddy, Spanish Meadows and Valley Regional Medical Staff.

Words cannot express the feelings that we have in our hearts right now. You were the best grandpa anyone could ask for. Always full of humor, making us laugh. I will miss seeing you fixing your appliances in the drive way. Love you grandpa.
