Jose Plata, Jr.

Jose Plata, Jr., 70, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Tx.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Abraham Plata and Juana Olguin; numerous brothers and other relatives.

Mr. Plata is survived by his wife, Elvia B. Plata; beloved pets: Baby, Rusty, and Sammy; parrot, Bonita; brothers, Gilbert (Carmela) Acosta and Frances (Esteban) Gonzalez; numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 9 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be, Esteban Gonzalez and Anthony Castro.
