Maria Guadalupe Padilla

Maria Guadalupe Padilla, 71, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo Hernandez and Amparo Hernandez; her siblings: Hilario Hernandez, San Juana Hernandez, Amparo Hernandez, and Ricardo Hernandez.

Maria is survived by her husband, Manuel Padilla; her seven children: Blanca (Ernest) S. Torres, Ricardo Solis, Sr., Maria (Jaime) S. Mandujano, Herlinda (Luis) S. Fernandez, Raquel (Guillermo) S. Cantu, and Osvaldo Solis, Jr., and San Juana Solis; 13 grandchildren: Ariel Solis, Victor Solis, Christian Solis, Ricardo Solis, Neiva Garcia, Mary Jane Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Crystal Fernandez, Brian Fernandez, Jessica Fernandez, Guillermo Cantu III, Raquel Cantu, and Osvaldo Solis III; 18 great-grandchildren: Saul Solis, Ezequiel Solis, Mia Solis, Scarlett Solis, Joseph Martinez, Michael Martinez, Sabrina Martinez, Andrew Morales, Julie Lopez, Madeline Lopez, Alex Lopez, Giovanni Casanova, Mia Fernandez, Karlee Fernandez, Arabella Fernandez, Helena Juarez, Quentin Solis, and Ananaias Solis. Also surviving her are five sisters: Elva Galvan, Dora De Los Santos, Gloria Aceves, Rosa Hernandez, and Bertha Aceves; one brother, Arturo Hernandez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 East Jackson Street in Brownsville, Texas.

A Chapel Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are: Osvaldo Solis III, Guillermo Cantu III, Brian Fernandez, Ryan Gonzalez, Bert Gonzalez, and Pedro Garcia.
