Petra V. Garcia, 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Alta Vista Nursing Home in Brownsville, TX.

She is preceded in death by husband, Jesus Garcia, 4 grandchildren, JR. Rodriguez, Eduardo, Patricio, and Jesus Orlando Garcia.

Mrs. Garcia, is survived by 9 children, Petra (Gregorio†) Escamilla, Jesus (Lydia) Garcia, Amparo (Lorenzo) Benavidez, Maria Eloisa Rodriguez, Frances Garcia, Anita (John) Agrela, Guillermo Garcia, Manuela (Francisco Jasso) Garcia, and Robert Garcia; 2 sisters, Maria Cruz and Amparo de Leon; 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 9 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
