Alberto Saco Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Brownsville, TX.
Alberto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 12, 1932. He married Elsa Saco on January 15, 1955, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alberto moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1963 with his family and then later moved to Brownsville, Texas, in 1973.
He was the proud owner of Texas Precision Company for many years here in Brownsville. Alberto began working at the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2002 and retired after working there for 12 years.
Alberto was a passionate tango dancer and spent many years teaching others how to dance, and he never gave up the opportunity to show off his talent. Alberto was an avid soccer fan who always made time to watch his favorite teams play. A devoted and loving husband, and a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A dear and loyal friend to so many, Alberto will always be remembered for his incredible spirit and great sense of humor.
Alberto was preceded in death by his parents, Elvira Lopez and Antonio Rodolfo Saco; sister, Celia Albornoz; and son, Alberto Antonio Saco Jr.
Alberto is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elsa Saco; son, Claudio Saco; and daughter, Jacqueline (Orlando) Martinez; ten grandchildren, Vanessa Saco, Michael Saco, Jasmine Saco, Daniel Saco, Patricia Saco, Angelo Saco, Christian Saco, Margie Saco, Matteo Martinez, and Diego Martinez, and five great-grandchildren, Angelo Joel Saco, Giovanni Saco, Jacob Cortez, Omar Molina and Camila Molina.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.
All services will conclude after visitation.
