**In Loving Memory of Andrew C. Alcala** It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew C. Alcala, at the age of 34, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Brownsville.
Andrew was a cherished son, devoted partner, beloved brother, and a friend to many. Hailing from Los Fresnos, Andrew had a zest for life that shone brightly. He found joy in the simple pleasures of fishing, gaming, playing guitar, and spending time at the beach. The warmth of a barbecue or grill ignited his spirit, often surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. Andrew's heart was filled with love for those around him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel E. Alcala, and those who held a special place in his heart-his maternal grandmother, Fredesvinda O. Escamilla, his paternal grandfather, Baldomero Alcala, and his loyal pet, Jax.
Andrew leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and connection. He is survived by his devoted mother, Patricia Medina (Pedro), his beloved girlfriend, Eva Garcia, and his maternal grandfather, Isaac Escamilla, Jr. In addition, he is lovingly remembered by his paternal grandmother, Beverly Alcala, his sister, Mandy Escamilla, his niece, Alexis Licea, his step-sister, Stephanie Alcala, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Though his time with us was far too short, Andrew's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know him. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. A celebration of Andrew's life will be held to honor his memory. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held Saturday March 28, 2026 from 5;00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. All services conclude after the visitation.
