Angelica (Solis) Fuentes

Angelica Fuentes, 87, of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Rio At Fox Hollow Post Acute in Brownsville.

Angelica Fuentes was born in Brownsville, TX, to Maria Del Refugio Cordova and Jose Angel Solis on January 1, 1935. She married on March 8, 1951, in Brownsville. She worked for 35 years for JC Penneys.

She is preceded in death by her beloved of 55 years husband Esteban Fuentes; one great-grandson, Raymond Ramirez Jr.; and her parents, Maria Del Refugio Solis and Jose Angel Solis; and her son-in-law, Jose Pineda.


She is survived by seven children, Esteban Fuentes Jr. (Maria Luisa), Hector Rolando Fuentes (Mary), Linda Rodriguez (Manuel), Carlos Fuentes (Martha), Daniel Fuentes (Yvonne), Norma Pineda, and David Fuentes (Yadira); seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm, noon Friday, March 4, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Fuentes, David Fuentes, Hector R. Fuentes Jr., Steve Fuentes Jr., Daniel Fuentes Jr., and Joey Pineda.
