Anita H. Castillo

Anita H. Castillo, 94, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Anastacia Hernandez; husband, Jose Ramirez Castillo; grandson, David Montemayor, and several other relatives.

Anita is survived by her children, Margarita Gonzalez, Elida Benavidez (Roberto, Jr.), Josefina Obregon, San Juanita Vargas (Manuel), Herminia Murillo, Jose Castillo, Jr. (Susana), Guadalupe Rodriguez (Phillip), and Mario Castillo (Aracely); 29 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 44 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 3, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
