Antonio Hernandez

Antonio Hernandez, 81, of Brownsville, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at his Residence in Brownsville.

Antonio met and married his sweetheart, Trini, in 1963. Throughout the years, they built a strong and loving marriage and together raised six children. He was a loving and supportive father to his children as well as to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family unconditionally.
Antonio enjoyed spending time with his family, neighbors, and friends. With his strong will and determination, he built his family home. He was a true DIYer. This is a lesson he instilled to his children.
As the provider of his home, Antonio protected his family and ensured they never went without. He was a happy man and a jokester who had loving nicknames for his children and grandchildren. In his later years, he enjoyed going to the flea market Saturday mornings and doing yard work. He also enjoyed working on projects at his home and his children's homes. Throughout his lifetime, he made many acquaintances and built strong and lasting friendships. He spent many years as a laborer and migrant worker with the support of his family. He also enjoyed working at the Good Neighbor Settlement Home for a few years. Antonio will be dearly missed by all the lives he's touched with his charisma, humor, and loving nature. His memory and legacy will always be treasured by his family and all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hortencia Hernandez and Juan Urbina.

Antonio Hernandez is survived by his loving wife, Trinidad L. Hernandez; children, Cristina Hernandez, Hortensia Rodriguez, David Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, Jr., Noemi Hernandez, and Michael Hernandez; sisters: Maria Gonzalez, and Gloria Moreno; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 pm and a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
