Armando Dimas

Armando Dimas, 68, of Brownsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at his Las Alturas Nursing & Transitional Care Brownsville in Brownsville.


Armando was born in Brownsville, Texas, to Juanita Dimas and Jesus Dimas on September 28, 1956. He had an enduring passion for music and was the proud leader of a band called "Grupo Emoncion." His talent brought joy to many as he performed at weddings, birthday celebrations, and even entertained residents at nursing homes with his magical acts, creating cherished memories with his beloved nieces and nephews. A true Tejano music enthusiast, his lively spirit and musical gifts will be remembered fondly.


Armando is reunited in spirit with his parents, Juanita and Jesus Dimas; three cherished siblings, Janie Strong, Rose Dimas, and Ruben Dimas; and his dear nephew, Ruben Dimas Jr.


He leaves behind one daughter, Veronica Mata, along with three adoring grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings: Sylvia D. Petrarca of Brownsville, TX, Diana Dimas Garza, Gracie Dimas, and Dennis Dimas of Houston, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss him dearly.


Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 14th, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.


Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
