Basilio Cuevas, 87, of Brownsville, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his residence in Brownsville.

Basilio Cuevas was born in Los Fresnos, TX, to Trinidad Reyna and Fernando Cuevas on January 9, 1936. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dora Elia Cuevas; sons, Reynaldo Cuevas, and Basilio Cuevas, Jr.

Basilio Cuevas is survived by his wife, Berta Rodriguez; children, Victor Rodriguez, Maria Elena Rodriguez, Dora Alicia Rodriguez, and Maricela Cuevas; brothers, Francisco, Fernando, and Santos Cuevas; sisters, Margarita Infante, Maria, Lala, and Antonia Cuevas.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 9:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 6th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
