Belen G. Cavazos

Belen Gutierrez Cavazos, 92, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, TX., surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Julia & Librado, and her siblings: Eudellice, Fernando, Carlos, Gertrudis, & San Juana.
Belen was married to Narcisso Cavazos for 11 wonderful years until she became widowed, together they had a daughter, Julia.
A lifelong learner & ambitious professional, Belen received a business administration degree, then worked as an executive secretary for the Southern Pacific Cotton Agency. She later opened SP Beauty Salon successfully pursuing her hairstyling passion for many years. Always looking for opportunities to serve her community and help others, Belen spent her final years working for St Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Julia; her cherished grandchildren: Michael, Melissa (Bryan), and Nicholas; and her precious great-grandchildren: Brendan (2) & Bailey (9 mos). She also leaves behind many nieces & nephews: Yolanda Garcia, Eliza Coronado, Edward Garcia, Yvonne Leija, Emmanuel Garcia, Melissa Martinez (Adolpho), Carlos Contreras, Lupita Mendoza (Orlando), Lucy Valencia, Tulita Silva, and Rudy Lopez, and their families, all of whom she deeply loved.
Belen's legacy of faith, love, and service, will continue to inspire those she knew. Her family & friends will forever remember her warm smile, generous spirit, and devotion to God and others.
Visitation was held from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm with an Evening Service at 7:00 pm January 1st, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be held Tue. January 7th, 2025, at Buena Vista Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to a Catholic charity of your choice, or honor Belen by helping someone in need.
