Comandante Sergio Alberto Luna Saldivar, 66, of Brownsville, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his residence in Brownsville.

Sergio Alberto Luna Saldivar was born in Matamoros, Tamps, MX, to Ma Eva Saldivar De L. and Juan Luna R. on January 7, 1958.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Luna R., and his sister, Laura Luna de Hernandez.

Sergio is survived by his loving wife of 43 years of marriage, Alma Benavides de Luna; 1 son, Sergio Alberto (Hilda) Luna, Jr.; 2 daughters, Bianka (Luis Daniel Giraldo) Luna, and Brenda Luna; 8 grandchildren, Venezia Luna, Italia Luna, Sebastian Luna, Sergio E. Luna, Maximiliano Giraldo, Simon Giraldo, Ximonette Cossio, and Daniel Cossio; his mother, Eva Saldivar de Luna; siblings, Juan Antonio Luna, Mirta Luna de Villarreal, Claudia Bobadilla, and Ismael Luna.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm with a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm with Pastor Pedro Medina officiating Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park Mausoleum.
