Cynthia E. Cepeda

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Echavarria Cepeda on Tuesday
July 19, 2022, at the age of 53.

She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, and graduated from James Pace High School, Class of 1988. A loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, she will be remembered as someone who lit up a room with her contagious smile and laugh. Cindy fought hard with the support of her loved ones by her side. She loved listening and dancing to Tejano music and was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan. Cindy had the kindest heart and helped with no hesitation. The most important part of her life was her daughter, whom she loved so dearly, Nicole.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugenio and Maria D. Salinas.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole R. Cepeda, mother, Maria Guadalupe Echavarria, father,
Austencio Echavarria, sister, Maggie (Gilbert) Sauceda, niece, Stephanie R. Sauceda, and
nephew, Matthew J. Torres.

Visitation will be held at Garza Memorial Funeral Home on Friday July 22, 2022 from 2pm-9pm
with an evening prayer service at 7pm. All services will conclude after the visitation. Cremation
to follow.
