Diana Irma Lopez, age 76, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, surrounded by her children. She was born on March 15, 1948 in Brownsville, Texas to Consuelo and Hector McClain.
Diana dedicated her life to her husband, Esteban, and their four children. They married as teenagers and spent the rest of their lives together until his death in 2017. Diana was a gentle soul who preferred the company of family and her beloved animals first and foremost. Her most-loved pastime was playing cards and board games with family. In addition to being a wife and mother, Diana was also an avid reader, hamburger and Coca-Cola connoisseur, and huge sports fan who loved wearing one of her favorite team's jerseys and watching a game.
The legacy she leaves behind is reflected in her children, and grandchildren as she intended it to be.
Diana Irma Lopez is survived by her children, Veronica Lopez, Esteban Lopez Jr., Jaime Lopez, and Adrian Lopez, six of her seven sisters, and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Esteban Lopez, and her parents, Consuelo and Hector McClain.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm followed by a Rosary from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held on Aug 23, 2024, at 9:00 am at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, followed by a burial service at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
