Elvira Larrasquitu de Pizaña, 80 años, de Brownsville, falleció el martes 18 de marzo de 2025, en Fox Hollow Post Acute en Brownsville.

Elvira fue la última de 11 hijos de Ricardo y Zenaida Larrasquitu, nacida el 20 de diciembre de 1944, en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México. Allí conoció a su querido esposo, Enrique Pizaña, y contrajeron matrimonio el 3 de diciembre de 1967. Elvira disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia. Le gustaba bailar, jugar a la lotería y visitar casinos en Luisiana con sus hermanos. También amaba reunirse con sus hermanas en el rancho San Vicente y se sentía muy orgullosa de todos sus hijos y nietos.

Elvira fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Enrique Pizaña, su hija mayor, Elvira González, y dos nietos, Enrique y Victoria. Le sobreviven sus cuatro hijos: Jaime (Myrna), Liliana (Jesús), Ricardo (Diana) y Yuriana; su yerno, Lupe González; 11 nietos; 11 bisnietos; y dos hermanas, Rosa Garza y Estela Barrios, junto con numerosos otros familiares.

La visita se llevará a cabo de 3:00 PM a 9:00 PM, con un rosario a las 7:00 PM el jueves 20 de marzo de 2025, en Garza Memorial Funeral Home.

Los servicios fúnebres tendrán lugar a las 2:00 PM el viernes 21 de marzo de 2025, en la Iglesia Católica Cristo Rey, seguido por el entierro en el cementerio comunitario Guillen.

Elvira Larrasquitu de Pizaña, 80, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Fox Hollow Post Acute in Brownsville.

Elvira was the last of 11 children born to Ricardo and Zenaida Larrasquitu on December 20, 1944, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. There, she met her beloved husband, Enrique Pizaña, and they married on December 3, 1967. Elvira cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed dancing, playing the lottery, and visiting casinos in Louisiana with her brothers. She also loved gathering with her sisters at the San Vicente ranch and was very proud of all her children and grandchildren.

Elvira was preceded in death by her husband, Enrique Pizaña, her eldest child, Elvira González, and two grandchildren, Enrique and Victoria. She is survived by her four children: Jaime (Myrna), Liliana (Jesús), Ricardo (Diana), and Yuriana; her son-in-law, Lupe González; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosa Garza and Estela Barrios, along with numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, followed by a committal at Guillen Community Cemetery.

Her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved her.
