Elza S. Briseño

Elza S. Briseño, 69, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Christopher House Hospice in Austin.

Elza S. Briseño was born in Los Fresnos, TX, to Esperanza Soto Barron and David Garcia on March 18, 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Esperanza Barron, and David Garcia; grandson, Jose Isabel Briseño Jr,; siblings: Esperanza Garza & Adalberto Soto.

Elza is survived by her husband, Isabel Briseño; her children: Juanita Aviles, Cruz Cepeda, Maria Isabel Briseño, Claudia Briseño-Chávez, and José Isabel Briseño; sisters: Susana Jaramillo, and Luz Herrera; brothers: David Soto, Roberto Soto, and Rodolfo Soto; 18 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM Monday, December 1st, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
