Ernesto N. Escobedo, 99, of Brownsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
Ernesto was a proud U.S. Army Air Force World War II veteran. He served his country honorably with distinction as a technical Sargent for the Air force doing radio and radar repair. He was stationed in North Africa, India, and the U.S.
Ernie, as he was called by his friends and family, was a wonderful Christian husband, brother, friend, and uncle. He touched people in the most wonderful and positive way. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luciano Escobedo and Maria Najar Escobedo. His late wife, Ruth Garcia Escobedo, a sister Emma Escobedo Will, and a brother, Juan Escobedo.
Mr. Escobedo is survived by his wife, Sandra C. Escobedo, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 with an evening service at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
