Eva Mendez, 89, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother

Eva Mendez, aged 89, passed away peacefully. Born in 1935, Eva lived a life filled with love, dedication, and unwavering strength.

She was the cherished mother of Joe Mendez, Adam Mendez, Frances Mendez, and Clara Avendaño, and is now reunited in heaven with her beloved son, Luis Mendez. Eva was a proud and devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Eva was also a loving sister to two surviving sisters, Sara Ponce and Juanita Cantu, and is now reunited with her six deceased siblings.

Eva was a pillar of strength and compassion, always putting others before herself. Her home was a gathering place filled with love, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her famous home-cooked meals. Eva's wisdom, kindness, and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held Thursday July 19, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
