Fidel Fernandez Jr., 56, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Fidel Fernandez Jr. was born in Brownsville, TX, to Maria Cruz Mota and Fidel Fernandez on July 15, 1968.

Fidel was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. proudly served from 1987 - 1992 during Desert Storm.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Cruz Mota.

Fidel is survived by his wife, Leticia Fernandez; children, Manuel, Fidel III, Jose Antonio, and Gregorio Fernandez, Marlee Rodriguez, and Dana Garcia; parents, Fidel Fernandez and step-mom, Maria Fernandez; siblings, Margarita Fernandez, Mary Alice Fernandez, Daniel Garcia, and David Fernandez.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
