Hector Vasquez

Hector Vasquez, 66, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at his residence in Brownsville.

He devoted 12 years of his life with the US Marines, then devoted another 27 years working for the Brownsville Police Department before retiring.
Hector Vasquez is survived by his daughter, Dina Joann Vasquez, and his son, Michael Steven Vasquez; and five grandchildren: Isaiah Nathaniel Valencia, Michael Steven Vasquez, Jr., Esai Sanchez, Mark Sanchez, and Zoey Michelle Vasquez.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am with Military Honors to begin at 11:15 am on Friday, August 11th, 2023, at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, Mission, TX.
