Isabel G. Benavidez

Isabel G. Benavidez, 92, of Brownsville, passed away on March 21, 2026, at Valley Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in San Benito, Texas, to Jose and Nieves R. Gonzalez on July 18, 1933.

Isabel was a devoted Christian who loved church, reading the bible, and spending quality time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pantaleon R. Benavidez, and her first son, Jose Luis Benavidez.

Isabel is survived by her children, Graciela Badillo, Reynaldo Benavidez (Cynthia), Jose Luis Benavidez, and Belinda Benavidez-as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Garza Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am, with the procession departing Garza Funeral Home at 10:30 am to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be, Michael Badillo, Armando Rubalcava, Kristopher Leon Robles, Rene Luis Benavidez, Robert Leon Page, Jorge Alberto Hernandez, Joe Anthony Hernandez, and Reynaldo Benavidez.
