Isabel G. (Gonzalez) Gutierrez

Isabel G. Gutierrez, 87, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

She was born in St. Paul, MN, to Rosa Reyes Hernandez and Tomas Gonzalez on July 8, 1934. Isabel married Francisco Monzon Gutierrez on July 10, 1955, in H. Matamoros, Tamps. MX. She worked as a food service provider for BISD Food Service for 20 years.

Isabel G. Gutierrez is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Monzon Gutierrez; a son, Jaime Gutierrez, and three siblings, Alvina Gonzalez, Elvira Chavarria, and Abraham Gonzalez.

She is survived by five children, Francisco Javier (Teresa) Gutierrez, Juventino (Sara) Gutierrez, Herman (Maria E.) Gutierrez, Lucinda (Brad) Cunningham, and Geraldo Gutierrez; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Adela Romero, Alicia Quintanilla, David Gonzalez, and Ernesto Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, February 11, 2022, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
