Ismael Hernandez

Ismael Hernandez, 78, of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at his residence in Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Esmeralda Hernandez and Raquel Hernandez; brothers, Juan Hernandez and Ricardo Hernandez; his sister, Guadalupe Hernandez.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife, Gloria Hernandez; children, Lulu, Ismael, Oscar, Rene and Diana Hernandez; siblings, Julia Hernandez and Ciriaco Hernandez; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm Monday, May 11, 2026, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Villa Nueva Cemetery.
