Jesus Davila Abete

Jesus Davila Abete, 87, of Brownsville, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Maria Abete; sister, Marta Chavez; brothers, Eduardo Abete, Jr., Guadalupe Abete, Antonio Abete, and Jose Abete.

Jesus Davila Abete is survived by his loving wife, Lily Abete; children, Jesus Abete, Jr., Diana, Maria Elena, and Cynthia Abete, Elizabeth (Abete) Sanso, Carmen (Abete) Lesser, Rose Mary (Abete) Applegate and Virginia Gonzales; brother, Ramon Abete, and many nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be; David Abete, Richard Abete, Roy Abete, Joe Abete, Santos Abete, and Orlando Olvera.
