Jose Guadalupe Matamoros, 90, of Brownsville, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical in Brownsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Elisa Matamoros.

Jose Guadalupe Matamoros is survived by his wife, Florencia Matamoros; daughters, Elisa Rodriguez, Evadelia Courtney, Erlinda Matamoros, and Erica Matamoros; sons, Arnoldo Matamoros, Alberto Matamoros, and Adolfo Matamoros; brother, Rafael Matamoros; sisters, Benita Contreras, and Lucila Soria; 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be at 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
