Obituary

Josefa M. Mar, 80, of Brownsville, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at her residence in Brownsville.
Josefa M. Mar was born in Mexico, to Felicitas Avila and Florencio Macias on April 21, 1943.
She is preceded in death by three siblings, Fidencio Macias, Juana M. Varela, and Manuela Alvardo.

Josefa M. Mar is survived by her spouse Leonides Mar of Brownsville, TX; one adopted daughter, Maria Elena Monsivais Garcia; and three siblings, Florencio Macias, Laura Sosa, and Maria Martinez.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with an evening service at 07:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
