Magdaleno Lopez Alvear

Magdaleno Alvear, a cherished husband and father of four children; of Los Fresnos, Texas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2020, at the young age of seventy- two years old.

Magdaleno was born on November 29, 1947, in Heroica Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Artemio and Olivia Alvear. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elva Alvear, as well as his four children, Maria (Victor) Cano, Leovardo (Adriana) Alvear, Nereyda (Hector) Garcia, and Laura Alvear. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his one great-grandchild.

Magdaleno’s family was the joy of his life. Nothing would bring him more joy than to see his entire family spending time together in the house that he built himself precisely for those moments. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, including: The Atlanta Braves baseball team, Club de Futbol
America, and his favorite boxers, Cesar Chavez and Canelo Alvarez. Along with sports, Magdaleno enjoyed working around the house, singing to Chalino Sanchez, and making his famous habanero salsa.
Always the jokester, Magdaleno had a sense of humor that was unheard of and could still make the whole room laugh and smile with joy.

While there are an infinite amount of memories shared within the family, a few standout from the rest.
His first daughter, Maria, remembers fondly of how her father was ready every Christmas for whatever
project she threw his way and how he would never say no. His son, Leovardo, cherishes the memories of when his dad would go over to his house and they would work together and share conversations that he will never forget. Nereyda, his second daughter, remembers her dad as the super hero of the family, as he was always at the ready for whoever needed help. With the payment of his “docesito” of course.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

His pallbearers will be his adoring grandchildren, Victor Escobedo, Victor
Cano, Cesar Cano, Ozvaldo Alvear, Yadira Alvear, and Alexa Alvear. They will be led by the honorary
pallbearers: Maya Garcia, Jocelyn Alvear, and Hector Gael Garcia.

Magdaleno Alvear, querido esposo y padre de cuatro hijos, de Los Fresnos, Texas, entró
pacíficamente en el descanso eterno el 26 de Noviembre del 2020, a la temprana edad de
setenta y dos años.

Magdaleno nació el 29 de noviembre de 1947 en Heroica Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México hijo de
Artemio y Olivia Alvear. Le sobreviven su esposa, María Elva Alvear, así como sus cuatro hijos, María
(Victor) Cano, Leovardo (Adriana) Alvear, Nereyda (Hector) García y Laura Alvear. También le sobreviven sus diez nietos y un bisnieto.
La familia de Magdaleno fue la alegría de su vida. Nada le daba más alegría que ver a toda su familia
pasar tiempo juntos en la casa que él mismo construyó precisamente para esos momentos. Disfrutaba
viendo deportes de todo tipo, incluidos: el equipo de béisbol Atlanta Braves, el Club de Fútbol América y
sus boxeadores favoritos, César Chávez y Canelo Alvarez. Además de sus deportes, Magdaleno
disfrutaba trabajando en la casa, cantando canciones de Chalino Sánchez y haciendo su famosa salsa
habanera. Siempre el bromista, Magdaleno tenía un sentido del humor inaudito y siempre podía hacer
reír y sonreír de alegría a todos. Si bien hay una cantidad infinita de recuerdos compartidos dentro de la familia, algunos se destacan del resto. Para su primera hija, María, ella recuerda con cariño cómo su padre siempre le hacía sus proyectos Navideños,y él nunca decía que no. Su hijo, Leovardo, aprecia los recuerdos de cuando su papá iba a su casa y trabajaban juntos y compartían conversaciones que nunca olvidará. Para su segunda hija, Nereyda, recuerda a su padre como el superhéroe de la familia, ya que siempre estaba listo para quien necesitara ayuda. Con el pago de su “docesito” claro. Para Laura Alvear, su hija menor, ella recuerda haber sido la que más se unió a él mientras estaba sentada con él para ver la Serie Mundial y la Copa del Mundo, además de jugar un largo juego de dominó. También ha dicho que sus mejores recuerdos con él serían en la cocina, donde siempre tenía bromas divertidas.

Velación se celebrará de 4:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. con la recitación del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. el Miércoles 2 de Diciembre de 2020, en Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Servicio Funeral de capilla se llevará a cabo a las 2:00 p.m. el Jueves, 3 de Diciembre de 2020, en Garza Memorial Funeral Home. El entierro será a las 3:00 p.m. en Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Sus portadores del féretro serán sus adorados nietos: Víctor Escobedo, Víctor Cano, César Cano, Ozvaldo Alvear, Yadira Alvear y Alexa Alvear. Estarán encabezados por los portadores honorarios del féretro: Maya García, Jocelyn Alvear y Héctor Gael García.
