Manuel R. Avila, 77, of Brownsville, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at his residence in Brownsville.

Manuel R. Avila was born in Mexico to Marina Rubio and Leovardo Avila on May 25, 1943.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leovardo & Marina Avila.

Manuel R. Avila is survived by his wife, Maria Irma Avila; daughters, Irma L. Garcia and Elda Karina Avalos; three brothers, Osbaldo, Isidro, and Arturo Avila, two sisters, Rebecca, and Marina Avila; five grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
