Maria Elva Banda, 90, of Brownsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

Maria Elva Banda was born in Brownsville, TX, to Maria Muñiz and Hilario Gonzalez on November 18, 1933. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Hilario Gonzalez; her siblings, Santiago Gonzalez, Roy Gonzalez, Felipa Garza, and Lupita Cruz.

Maria is survived by her sons, Paul Banda, and Raul Banda; daughters, Rosie Morse, and Lidia Uribe; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday, August 9th, 2024, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 10th, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
