Maria Del Rosario Hernandez, 89, of Brownsville, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at her residence in Brownsville.
Maria Del Rosario Hernandez was born in Mexico, to Petra Medellin and Genaro Avila on August 6, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Hernandez; parents, Genaro and Petra Avila, and numerous siblings.
Maria Del Rosario Hernandez is survived her children, Rosa Maria Rivera, Maria Teresa Rivera, Maria Alicia Padilla, Pedro Hernandez, Maria Del Rosario Pech, Jose Luis Hernandez, Gloria Garcia, Agustin Hernandez, and Patricia Velasquez; 25 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023. Continue visitation from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 21st, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
