Maria E. Castillo, 77, of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at her residence in Brownsville.
Maria E. Castillo was born in Matamoros, Tamps, MX, to Maria De Jesus Plata and Anastacio Balderrama on September 22,1948.

She was a devoted Christian who loved praying and spending time with her Family and Church Family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosie Castillo, and her son, Marco Antonio Castillo.

She is survived by her husband, Jesus R. Castillo; her daughters, Mary Castillo and Esther Guajardo (Gilbert Jr.); and her brother and sisters, Juan Balderrama, Francisca Balderrama, and Guadalupe Balderrama. her grandson, Noah Gilbert Guajardo, and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at Principe De Paz Church.
