Maria G. Lopez

Maria G. Lopez, 89, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas. She worked for eighteen years at McNair and was the owner of Mi Ranchito Café for over 60 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro Lopez Sr.; brothers and sisters, Cuauhtemoc “Temo” Castro, Pablo Castro, Maria Luisa Vasquez, and Juana Martinez.

Maria is survived by her children, Alejandro Lopez Jr. and Juanita Lopez Pena; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Victoriano “Lacho” Castro, Pedro Castro, Maria De Los Angeles Amaya, Amelia Garza, Armandina Castro, Sylvia Castro Garza, and Bernabe Castro; former daughter-in-law, Leticia Rodriguez; and former son-in-law, Omero Pena Jr.

Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 9 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
