María Ventura Gómez, de 78 años, residente de Brownsville, Texas, falleció el jueves 21 de agosto de 2025 en el Hospital Solara de Brownsville. Amante de los animales,

María apreciaba mucho a sus diversas mascotas, entre ellas pájaros, palomas, gatos y perros. Le apasionaba la cocina y será recordada con cariño por sus deliciosos postres de plátano macho, sus tamales envueltos en hojas de plátano y sus mojarras fritas favoritas.

Su amor por la naturaleza era evidente en su jardín, donde disfrutaba cuidando sus plantas y recordando los hermosos lagos de Guatemala.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 26 de agosto de 2025, de 14:00 a 21:00, con el rosario a las 19:00 en la Funeraria Garza Memorial. Todos los servicios concluirán después del velorio y, según sus deseos, será cremada.

María será profundamente extrañada por su familia y amigos, quienes guardan muy gratos recuerdos de su bondad, sus habilidades culinarias y su amor por todos los seres vivos.

Maria Ventura Gomez, 78, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Solara Hospital in Brownsville. A devoted animal lover, Maria cherished her various pets, which included birds, doves, cats, and dogs. She had a passion for cooking and will be lovingly remembered for her delightful plantain banana desserts, tamales wrapped in banana leaves, and her favorite fried mojarras.


Her love for nature was evident in her garden, where she found joy in tending to her plants and reminiscing about the beautiful lakes of Guatemala.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. All services will conclude after visitation, as per her wishes, she will be cremated.


Maria will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who hold dear the memories of her kindness, culinary skills, and love for all living things.
