Maria Guadalupe Infante

Our loving mother, Maria Guadalupe Infante, departed our family on March 4, 2023.
"Lupe" as she was called, was the first of 9 children born to Maria and Felix Pardo in San Benito, Texas on February 8, 1937. She married the love of her life, Isaias Infante Jr., on March 25, 1956, together they raised their children: Pilar (Armando) Vasquez, Juan Diego (Carolina) Infante, Juan Felix (Martha) Infante, Claudia Infante, Julian Javier (Melissa) Infante, and Margarita (Steven Perez) Infante. She was a grandmother to 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, "Chayo" as she called him after 52 years of marriage, her father, Felix, her mother, Maria, her sister, Adelina Gomez, her brothers, Leonides Pardo, Federico Pardo, and Jose and Antonio Uribe, who were raised as her brothers.
Our mother was a devoted matriarch who enjoyed fishing, solving jigsaw puzzles, tending to her flowers, baking sweets, and would make the best flour tortillas. Her dream was to become a teacher so she obtained her GED at 53 years old in 1990 and worked as a substitute teacher, quickly becoming the favored by many teachers to run their classes.
Our parents were the definition of love and devotion and everyone remembers them by being the flawless dancers on the dance floor. She will be deeply missed by the people who loved her.
Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2023, at Garza Funeral Home in Brownsville, and interment at Buena Vista Burial Park on March 8, 2023, at 1 pm.
Pallbearers will be Juan Diego Infante, Juan Diego Infante Jr, Armando Vasquez Jr, Julian Javier Infante Jr, Jaime Infante, Steven Perez and honorary pallbearer will be David Medina Jr.
