Maria Z. Martinez

Maria Z. Martinez, 86, of Brownsville, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at her residence in Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijio Martinez; son, Rodrigo Martinez.

Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Cayetano (Maria) Martinez, Felix (Marta) Martinez, Cirilda (Alberto) Elizarraras, Benita (Jose Cantu) Castillo, Leonor Martinez Diaz, Julian (Pilar) Martinez, Maria Garza, Elijio (Sylvia) Martinez, Santos (Minerva) Martinez, Juana Hugle, Margarita (Pedro) Santana, Inocencia (Jose) Campos, and Guadalupe (Juan) Perez; 50 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
