Maria De La Luz Peña, 94, of Brownsville, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

Maria De La Luz Peña was born in Mexico, to Carmen Garza and Teodoro Flores on August 16, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmen Garza and Teodoro Flores; son, Domingo Enrique Peña; grandson, Jose Enrique Peña.

She is survived by her son, Jose A. Peña; 1 grandchild, Hector Adrian Peña, and 4 great-grandchildren, Penelope, Olivia, Jose E. Peña, Jr., and Jarian Amadeo Peña.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 21st, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. All services will conclude after the Funeral Service.
