Martin Garza, a proud Brownsville, Texas native, passed away on December 15, 2025, peacefully in the comfort of his home, leaving behind cherished memories with those who loved him.
A Vietnam War veteran, he served multiple tours in the United States
Marine Corps with honor, courage, and dedication. After his military service, Martin continued his commitment to serve as a police officer and later a detective for the City of San Benito.
Above all, Martin took great pride in his children and family. He led by example through hard work, loyalty, and love. Outside of his service, Martin had a lifelong passion for mechanics and enjoyed working on cars.
Martin is preceded in death by his father, Federico Garza; mother, Guadalupe Guitron; and grandson J.R, and his fellow servicemembers.
He is survived by his loving and caring niece and her family Monica Lee Almaguer who was his caregiver and constant companion. His daughter, Patricia Martinez; son-in-law, Miguel Martinez, grandchildren, Mona, Xada, and Jose; son, Federico Garza; nephew, Henry Garza who held a special place in his heart , and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

His legacy of resilience, generosity, and love for his family and country will never be forgotten.
