Raquel Gloria Serna, 93, of Brownsville, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, at her residence in Brownsville

She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her infectious smile and unwavering devotion to her children. Raquel had a passion for teaching the Bible, and her love for children was evident in her desire to always be surrounded by them. Her friendly and kind nature will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Family and friends have the conviction they will see again in Paradise on Earth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Angelica Garcia; husband, Eliseo Serna, son, Jesus Eliseo Serna; daughter, Dora Ana Serna; and a brother, Alfonso Garcia.

Raquel Gloria Serna is survived by her children: Joel Serna (Norma Edith), Esther Medellin (Andres), Ricardo Serna (Esperanza), Rosa Maria Talamantes (Jessie); 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

The procession will depart from the Funeral Home at 9:30 am for a Graveside Service at 10:00 am Friday, December 29, 2023, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a funeral talk at 7:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.
