Rayner Orlando Cardenas Sr.

Rayner Orlando Cardenas Sr., 77, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Mr. Cardenas was a US Army Veteran and proudly served during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo F. and Gardenia Cardenas; siblings, Ricardo Omar Cardenas, and Ronaldo Oniel Cardenas.

Rayner Orlando Cardenas Sr., is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa Cardenas; children, Cynthia Cavazos (Edward), and Rayner Cardenas, Jr. (Laura); siblings, Orqidea, Irma Cuevas, Evaristo Omel Cardenas, and Renan Osiel Cardenas; 4 grandchildren, Alexandra Cavazos, Easton Cavazos, Ryan Cardenas, and Lauran Cardenas.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Mary Mother of the Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Mary Mother of the Church 1914 Barnard Rd. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion at the graveside.
