Ricardo Guerrero Flores, 65, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Solara Hospital in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on July 31, 1959, in Brownsville, TX, Ricardo was the son of Elva Guerrero and Basilio Flores. He received his education at Gladys Porter High School and graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville. On October 4, 1996, Ricardo married Elsa Salazar in Brownsville. He worked as a Buyer for the Brownsville Public Utility Board for 15 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, reading the Bible, and spending time outdoors gardening and working on things around his home.
For 15 years, Ricardo was a valued Buyer for the Brownsville Public Utility Board, where he made lasting contributions. He had a passion for life that was evident in his love for playing guitar, listening to music, reading the Bible, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. His spirit touched many, and he will be remembered for his kindness and joyful nature.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsa Flores, and his father, Basilio Flores. Ricardo leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Jordan Tyler Williams, his devoted mother, Elva Guerrero, and six cherished siblings: Basilio Flores, Elva Olivo, Joel Flores, Debra Schultz, Jose Manuel Villarreal, and Frances Garza. He also had two step-children, Steven Ayala and Darlene Ayala Outlaw, as well as his companion, Lulu Nava, along with numerous other relatives, who will deeply miss him.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with an evening service at 7:30 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana Mexicana. Committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
