Ricardo D. Ramirez

Ricardo "Richard" D. Ramirez, 71, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Our brother Richard started at an early age to play his guitar and continue playing through out his life. He enjoyed shopping at his favorite stores; Wal-Mart and HEB always telling lots of jokes, he was a very sociable and friendly person. Richard frequently played at the peoples request of their favorite songs/music at the Galaxy Bowling Alley and other special events. This was our brother.

Ricardo "Richard" was born in Brownsville, TX, to Oralia Gomez and Domingo S. Ramirez on November 22, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo S. and Oralia Gomez Ramirez; brothers, Jose Humberto Ramirez, and Rodolfo Ramirez; and sisters, Elvia Ramirez, and Sylvia Ramirez.

Ricardo is survived by his siblings, Oralia Gonzalez (Pedro ), Yolanda Nieto (Seferino), Rolando Ramirez (Oralia), Blanca Estela Barron (Javier, Sr.), Rosalinda Ramirez, and Olga Escobedo (Victor); his uncle, Luis Gomez, Sr. (Paula), and sister-in-law, Laura A. Ramirez, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 20th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be: Joey Ramirez, Javier Barron, Jr., Victor Ulysses Escobedo, Steve Barron, Julio Cesar Escobedo, Marco Antonio Escobedo, Jason Barron, and Aaron Issac Escobedo.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Victor Escobedo, Javier Barron, Sr., Seferino Nieto, Fidencio Zandoval, and Rolando (Roli) Ramirez.

Special thanks to his home health agency, and his provider Blanca, his heart doctors from the Heart Institute.
