Roberto T. Pizaña,74, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Roberto was born on August 17, 1943, to Guadalupe Pizaña and Petrolina (Treviño) in Brownsville, Texas. In 1963, he joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Purple Hearts, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Export Badge Rifle M14. He was Honorably discharged on March 31, 1970. Upon returning from the military, he worked as a plumber for many years at Pizaña Plumbing.
Roberto, is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Maria De Jesus Pizaña; children: Roberto Pizaña Jr., Ruben (Janey) Pizaña and Nora Adriana (Jesus) Figueroa; grandchildren: Ruben Alexander (Lauren) Pizaña Yajaira, Yadira, Yaritza and Jayden Figueroa.
Visitations will be held from 1 pm to 9 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. The Chapel service will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers are Roberto Pizaña Jr., Ruben Pizaña, Ruben Alexander Pizaña, Jesus Figueroa, Jayden Figueroa, Luis Rodriguez, and Alberto Echartea.
