Family was everything to Santana. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his wife and daughters tremendously- his girls meant the world to him. He adored his wife and always supported her endeavors and involvement in the community, and celebrated her accomplishments. He took great pride in being a father and cherished his two daughters, always involved in their everyday activities, from sports to playdates. Many great memories were established with his girls because of the great love he had for them, from attending Girl Scout Father/Daughter Dances to playing ball in the backyard. Not only was he a loving husband and father, he was a caring son, brother and uncle. He was very close to his family and always looked out for them.
Santana enjoyed many hobbies and thrived at competitive sports. He loved the thrill of skating vert ramp, and in his youth, he was sponsored by G&S Skateboards. His athletic abilities went beyond skating. Not only was he a talented skater, he was an avid racquetball player that excelled at the sport- he was the sparring partner to the number one international racquetball tour pro and enjoyed playing with his many racquetball friends.
He was also well recognized in Brownsville's music scene and played with many local bands. He was the singer, lead guitarist, and songwriter of Galvanic. The band traveled outside of the valley to perform and opened up for some notable bands, such as Green Jello, Sons of Texas, People of the Sun, Tantric, and Hocico. Music had always been a passion of his, which began as early as five years old and flourished as he grew older.
