William Warren Obituary

WILLIAM CHARLES WARREN, CW3, RETIRED

William Charles Warren, 47, resident of South Padre Island and El Paso, Texas, passed away on July 31,
2025, at Valley Regional Hospital in Brownsville, Texas. William was born in Payson, Utah, to parents Jay
Dee and Denise Miller Warren on July 21, 1978. He went by "Billy Chuck" as a child and "Will" as an
adult.

Will spent his early childhood in Utah, surrounded by a large and loving extended family. He enjoyed
time with his cousins hunting, fishing, camping, and making lifelong memories. As a young boy, he
participated in the 4-H Horse Program, working with his Grandpa Howard. Will was a natural horseman
and won several awards that he was proud of and spoke of often. His love for animals was evident, and
he nurtured them with compassion and kindness.

As a teen, Will moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and graduated from Cimarron Memorial High School. He
had an active sense of humor and could tell a great story, but he also knew how to work hard and take
care of business. He landed his first job while in high school and never stopped working, consistently
excelling in whatever he did, a testament to his dedication and respect for his profession.

A proud veteran of the US Army, Will retired with full honors from the military after 22 years of
distinguished service. He spent the first ten years of his military career as an A8 M1 Armor crewman,
fighting many battles in Iraq. After achieving all that was possible as a tank commander, he challenged
himself, as he often did, by transferring to Army Aviation. There, he excelled as a Chief Warrant Officer
and engaged in combat as an Apache helicopter pilot.

Will was a highly decorated soldier, including two Bronze Star Medals for Valor, two Meritorious Service
Medals, and the prestigious aviation-specific Order of Saint Michael. He later became an instructor pilot,
training and influencing many aviators. Retirement did not signal the end of his service to his country.
He continued to use his military experience, knowledge, and training skills as a civilian contractor,
managing Flight Simulator Training at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He never forgot his army family, those
who lost their lives in service, and the loved ones left behind.

Will is survived by his family in Texas as well as his home state of Utah. Parents, Jay Warren and Denise
Warren, sister Bradi (Kevin) Cottrell, his former wife Erika Murphy Warren, three children, Sabrina
Gwenn Murphy, her fiancée Daniel Garcia, Sean Howard Warren, and Shane Robert Warren, Grandson
Theodore Noel Garcia, he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter Ophelia Melody Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Utah State Trooper Charles "Chuck" Warren, Dorothy
and Frank Hudson, and Howard and Renee Miller.

The family of William Charles Warren, CW3 Retired, extends heartfelt thanks to all who loved and
supported him during his time here on earth. Your love and support have been a source of comfort and
strength during this difficult time, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and understanding.
